Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Registration in the Coatesville Area School District.
When is Online Registration available?
Coatesville Area School District is a public school with no registration deadline and will enroll all students who reside in the CASD boundary and meet the registration requirements. We strongly encourage you to complete registration as soon as possible after you establish residency and have all the required documents. Online Registration for Kindergarten is now open for the 2023-2024 school year.
Who can enroll a child in school?
A child may be enrolled by a parent, foster parent, caseworker, caregiver with whom the child resides, or any other person with “charge or control” of the child.
Which school will my child attend?
What are the benefits to Online Registration?
Online Registration will reduce the burden on our building secretaries to manually enter enrollment information prior to the start of school. Online Registration will also increase the accuracy and consistency of our data by providing a standard registration form for the district.
Finally, Online Registration will save the district in a vast reduction in the amount of paper the district will need to use. Paper is reduced both by not handing out paper enrollment forms as well as by scanning required documents directly into the system instead of making a paper copy.
What is the link to register my child online?
How long will this process take?
If you are registering for the first time in the district, plan to spend approximately 25 minutes online. If you have more than one child, the total time spent will vary. If you require help enrolling online, we recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment time so that the registration process goes as smoothly as possible.
I have multiple children, can I register them at the same time?
You will need to register each child individually.
Can I register a student that previously attend Coatesville Area School District using Online Registration?
Yes! If your student previously enrolled at CASD, withdrew for a time, and would like to return, you can and should complete Online Registration.

What documents do I need to register my child?
- Child’s birth certificate
- Child’s record of immunization
- Two proofs of residency that the child’s legal parent/ guardian resides in Coatesville Area School District
- Valid parent/guardian photo ID
What are the immunization requirements for Coatesville Area School District?
Students must meet the requirements of Pennsylvania Immunization law to attend school in Pennsylvania.

We encourage you to contact your health care provider or the School Nurse if you have questions about your child’s immunizations. Your prompt cooperation is required if you receive a notification regarding missing immunizations to avoid your child’s exclusion from school.
Can I submit my child’s physical exam & immunizations on the form my doctor’s office provides?
Yes. Please make sure your child’s name, physical exam details, complete immunization history, and their doctor’s signature is on the form. Physical and dental exams should be completed within the last calendar year.
How do I upload documents?
You will need to upload various documents throughout the registration process. You can upload documents such as a PDF from a computer or take a picture of the document and e-mail it to yourself.
What will happen if I don't have all the required documentation when I go online?
You will be allowed to complete the registration process, but your enrollment will be placed on hold until you are able to bring in, email or upload the documentation.
What document do I need if my child will be residing with a resident in town?

I do not have access to a computer and/or the internet. How do I complete my registration?
If you do not have access to the internet, a device to use, or need assistance in completing the online application, we have computers available at the Administration Building where you can complete the registration process with assistance. Please contact the Central Registration Team at 610-466-2400 to reserve a time to do so.
What is the minimum age for entering Kindergarten?
A child shall be eligible for admission to kindergarten if s/he has attained the age of five (5) years on or before September 1 of the school year in which s/he seeks admission.
Does CASD have full day Kindergarten?
Yes.
Does Coatesville do any testing prior to a student entering Kindergarten?

When will I know the bus details for my child?
For registered students eligible to receive school bus service who will begin in September, bus details will be available via Powerschool. Simply login to your PowerSchool account.
